Elon Musk apologized to a British diver who described him as a "pedophile" in a discussion about the rescue of boys who were trapped in a cave in Thailand.
Musk's comment was aimed at diver Vernon Unsworth, who criticized Musk's idea of removing the 12 teenagers and his football coach from the cave with a minisubmarine, the caller "marketing shot" that "would have absolutely no chance of operating" in the entanglement of tunnels in the cave network. He also suggested that Musk could "stick the submarine where it hurts".
The businessman – CEO of space exploration company SpaceX and automaker Tesla – visited the command center in Thailand during the rescue operation and sent the prototype in the country, but local authorities rejected the proposal.
In response to comments from the "British diver who lives in Thailand" (without mentioning his name), Musk posted on Twitter that he "would do (a video showing) the minisubmarine entering the cave without problems" and continued: "Sorry, you pedophile, you asked for it."
The subject heated up in social networks; When many criticized Musk for calling the pedophile diver, the billionaire questioned the relevance of Unsworth to the rescue.
"I did not see this British expatriate living in Thailand when we were in the cave".
