The Y model has not even been put into production yet, and Elon Musk is already thinking about the upcoming launch of Tesla, an electric pickup that has to compete with the Ford F-150. The model was announced in 2017 without much information, but last week, Musk decided to share with its followers on Twitter some details.
"The Tesla pickup will have a dual engine and AWD with a crazy torque and a suspension dynamically adjusts to the load.This will be the factory," he wrote. He then released that the new model would have 240V electrical outlets to enable the use of high power tools in the field.
Before giving this information, Musk asked his followers what characteristics they would like the model to have. Responses from some users have garnered truplices from Tesla's president, who has revealed even more about the ideas he's been developing for at least five years.
For the user who ordered the adjustable suspension to run on asphalt roads for better aerodynamics "Mank" and raising the height of the pickup truck from the road, Musk said that this should be a standard item.
The other, who asked that the model have an autonomy of 500 miles or more, the president of Tesla said that at full load, the car should be able to travel between 400 and 500 miles without needing to recharge the battery.
Despite Musk's revelations and the entire conversation with his Twitter followers, the Tesla pickup truck is not expected to hit the market anytime soon. The Y model is expected to come into production in 2020, so it should not be exhausted until 2022. At least there is still plenty of time to send suggestions to Musk on Twitter.
