According to the State Secretariat for Health (Susam), the priority is for those who can not prove that they have already been vaccinated. The teams started working in the northern part of the capital, which accounts for 37% of reported measles cases in Manaus alone.

The target audience for action are children from six months to less than five years old. However, due to the onset of the disease, the age group extended to the public up to 49 years of age.

Vaccination in the state network occurs in all three teams, with teams ranging from room to room. Agents of the Health Surveillance Foundation (FVS), state health services and health professionals trained at the university will be responsible for the application of the vaccine.

In a note, FVS CEO Bernardino Albuquerque says the strategy should have short-term results. "The students were the population affected by measles in the capital, and the action inside the school is the most indicated and fast to contain the advance of the disease, which is extremely contagious, "he said.
