With the absences of Temer, Maia and Eunice, it falls to the President of the STF to exercise the presidency of the Republic. Carmen Lúcia has already taken office in April and June of this year.

Since April, Maia and Euncio have been planning diaries abroad whenever Temer travels abroad. If the parliamentarians remain in the office of President of the Republic for a certain period during the six months preceding the elections, they can only stand as candidates for the presidency. In other words, they could not show up for other jobs in October.

On Tuesday morning, Temer and Carmen Lúcia met at Brasilia Air Base, where the President's Office transmission ceremony took place. The two shook hands and posed for photos.

Temer arrives in the afternoon on the island of Sal, which receives Tuesday and Wednesday the summit of CPLP's heads of state and government.

Created in 1996, this community includes Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor-Leste . The group's objectives include strengthening diplomacy and cooperation between members and spreading the Portuguese language.
