A woman from the Ministry of Human Rights was stabbed to death by her ex-husband on Saturday, January 14, in Santa Maria, in the Federal District. According to the civilian police, 30-year-old Janaína Romão Lúcio had already recorded two domestic violence reports against her ex-partner, with whom he had two children.

Janaína was beaten in the chest and back by the man, 21 years old. The police did not give the name of the criminal.
According to the civilian police, witnesses testified that the two men were fighting in the street in front of the abuser's house, when Janaina went to pick up her children from her former companion. After stabbing the victim, the criminal ran away without a shirt and barefoot. It has not been located yet.
Janaína was saved at the Santa Maria Regional Hospital, but she did not resist injury.
The case was registered as a femicide in the 33rd police district [Santa Maria]. Delegate Alberto Rodrigues reported that the man had, in addition to records of domestic violence, other criminal records and "can be considered dangerous".
