The reason for the cancellation of the Marvel series may have been revealed

Many fans were surprised by the cancellation of some Marvel series in partnership with Netflix, most recently the Daredevil series, whose third season was well received by the public.

That's what Matthew Ball, Amazon Studios's strategy manager, thinks, but the two companies did not agree on some points. In his Twitter profile, he wrote his badysis of the situation that led Netflix to cancel the Marvel series. According to him, Netflix had long wanted to reduce the number of episodes per season in all Marvel series.

The streaming service wanted to reduce the number of episodes from 13 to 6 or 8 per season, in order to cut costs. In addition to the refusal to reduce the number of episodes, Ball highlights the fact that Disney is now investing in series for its own streaming service, causing Netflix to lose interest in the partnership.

Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil are the canceled series until now. Punisher and Jessica Jones have new episodes scheduled for 2019, but may have the same fate.

About the Third Season of Daredevil

Daredevil is the first series made in the partnership between Marvel and Netflix, but she does not seem to have lost her breath when she arrives at the third. Season Attorney Matt Murdock is becoming more and more determined to relentlessly defend the threat in the tumultuous region of Hell's Kitchen and must face all kinds of threats with or without this man's uniform.

The third season must partly fit the arc of the comic entitled The Fall of Murdock, one of the most famous of the hero and responsible from the formation of much of what one understands of the character today and which has finally culminated in the series. The cast features Charlie Cox in Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll in Karen Page, Elden Henson in Franklin "Foggy" Nelson and Vincent Onofrio in Wilson Fisk, the mighty crime king in New York.

Amazing fans, who hoped that the new season would only concern 2019, Marvel and Netflix confirmed that the new episodes of Daredevil would be available in 2018. The third season was released on October 19.
