The state of health confirms the first death by arbovirosis

The State Department of Health confirmed this Friday (13) the first death by arbovirus in Pernambuco this year. The victim was a 53-year-old woman who lived in the district of Paulista in the metropolitan area of ​​Recife and died on 21 February. Death was under investigation by the State Committee of Deaths by Dengue and other Arboviruses in Pernambuco. The technicians badyzed laboratory samples and badessed the victim's residence and the period of hospitalization.

According to the latest epidemiological bulletin, published by SES on Friday (13), between 31 December 2017 and 7 July 2018, 13,006 cases of dengue fever have been reported in the state, of which 2,786 are confirmed. Occurrences were reported by 171 municipalities. During the same period last year, 11,084 cases were recorded, corresponding to a 17.3% increase in suspected dengue cases.

Already for Chikungunya were registered this year: 1,647 cases, of which 235 had confirmation and 714 rejected. The occurrences are 120 municipalities. In the same period last year, there were 3,380 cases, in this case a 53% reduction in 2018, compared to the 2017 data.
