Trump meets with Putin expected to last an hour and a half and will be private | World

The beginning of the dialogue is scheduled for 1:15 pm (7:15 am in Brasilia), and will take place in the gothic hall of the presidential palace. Then both will be joined by a group during a working lunch in the Hall of Mirrors.

While Trump is with Putin, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attends a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Also in the second is scheduled a meeting of Pompeo with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Timo Soini.

The two presidents will attend a joint press conference scheduled for 4:50 pm (10:50 GMT), but are not expected to issue a joint document, a Kremlin spokesman said Friday.

Donald Trump, who arrived in Helsinki on Sunday, while Putin was still celebrating the World Cup final in his country, will be the first to reach the presidential palace. He will be greeted by Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, with whom he has a meeting before speaking to Putin.

As the presidents meet, the first ladies, Melania Trump and Jenni Haukio, will have breakfast together, according to the official schedule.

Sauli Niinistö will also have a bilateral meeting with Putin, but only at the end of the day, after closing his agenda with the President of the United States.

According to the Kremlin, global nuclear disarmament should be the main theme of the meeting. Mr Trump has already said that he will again question Putin on the issue of elections, although he admits that the Russian would never confess a possible implication if that were the case.
