On social networks, netizens – especially detractors of the Republican president – were amused with the clicks of the child. Some said that Joshua "the only Trump" had argued and stressed that they would do the same if they attended the speech.

In a statement issued by the White House, confirming the presence of the illustrious guest, the little American thanked the invitation addressed to the head of the White House and to Melania, who has a project against cyberbullying, called "Be Best".
The President, the First Lady and the 535 members of Congress are allowed to welcome guests for the State of the Union address, during which Trump presented Tuesday the results and objectives of the his administration. In addition to Joshua, the White House also invited Judah Samet, a survivor of the Pittsburgh synagogue shootout, who killed 11 people in October 2018; Ashley Evans, who dedicates her life to the fight against opioids; and the parents of Gerald and Sharon David, a couple killed by a clandestine immigrant.
