US authorities confirm first two deaths from H1N1 flu in 2018 | Campinas and Region

Of the ten confirmed influenza, seven were H1N1, with two confirmed deaths on Wednesday, plus two influenza seasonal influenza A H3 and one non-serotyped serotype.

According to the Americana Health Secretariat, one of the victims is a 58-year-old woman living in Gramado Park, who died on June 15. He was not part of the risk group and was hospitalized at the Waldemar Tebaldi Municipal Hospital.

Already the other patient, also a woman, was 55 years old and lived in Jardim São Pedro. She had chronic lung disease and was hospitalized at San Francisco Hospital until her death on June 9th.

The surveillance reported that two cases of patients who died at the municipal hospital were still waiting for the result, with a 44-year-old woman living in the Jardim dos Lírios district who died on 22 June and another woman from 45 years old, residing in the district of Chácara Letônia, with death attested on July 2nd.

Campinas confirmed on Tuesday (3) three deaths due to the flu, totaling six deaths in the municipality in 2018. Sumaré has four, while Mogi Guaçu (SP), Valinhos (SP) and Estiva Gerbi (SP) total each.
