X-rays will have colors and will be in 3D! See all the differences

Progress in diagnostic systems has been many and varied. However, some have advanced more than others and X-rays seem to continue in the distant past, compared to other imaging tests.

Now, an American company called MARS Bioimaging wants to modernize X-rays not only with 3D technology but also with color. For this they have developed a large diameter digitizer and the images that it can produce reveal very well its power

The system, which was created by a father and son team , Phil and Anthony Butler, has been in development for about a decade. However, this long march seems to be paying off. The machine is capable of creating incredibly accurate 3D models, allowing doctors to explore the inside of a patient's body without the need of a scalpel.

The MARS badysis system uses an original technology developed by CERN. The "Medipix" chips used in the new X-ray system are pixel detectors that provide a fast image while transmitting color information, allowing the machine to build the 3D model of the target object (in this case, the human body). The result is the videos we showed above.

The new system is a very powerful tool and the uses are obvious. If a doctor can examine the bones and organs of a patient in 3D, he can more accurately plan operations or even avoid surgery in some cases. Thus, patients can benefit from faster recovery times, more efficient operations and more accurate care plans based on what exactly happens in the body of patients.

However, as promising as it may seem, this system is not yet ready to become the center of attention, even though the company is still working on the commercial launch of the system.
