Disneyland Resort is officially canceling the annual pass holder program while theme parks remain closed indefinitely.
Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland, made the following statement:
Due to the continuing uncertainty of the pandemic and the limitations surrounding the reopening of our theme parks in California, we will issue appropriate refunds for eligible Disneyland Resort annual passports and terminate the current program.
In a message to annual pass holders, he also said the following:
I know that the elimination of the annual passport program will be disappointing for many of our pass holders who are just as eager as we are to reopen our doors and welcome guests when the time comes.
We are also very excited about what lies ahead. We plan to use this time while we remain closed to develop new membership offers that will use consumer insight to provide choice, flexibility and value to our biggest fans.
Annual pass holders will be reimbursed and future membership offers are in the works. All Annual Pass holders who had active passes as of March 14, 2020 will still be able to receive discounts on merchandise, food and beverage at open locations in the Downtown Disney District and Buena Vista Street. Annual pass holders receiving a refund will receive a separate confirmation email. Customers who have the Premier Passport with access to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World will receive a refund for the Disneyland portion when the pass is discontinued.
