Kentucky made their first basketball engagement for the 2021 class.

Nolan Hickman – a four-star guard in the rising senior class – today announced his commitment to the UK, picking the Wildcats over offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, UCLA and from Washington, among others.

Rumors began to circulate Friday night that a commitment was in the works, with three consecutive FutureCast picks coming in favor of the Wildcats on Rivals.com, led by Corey Evans turning his Kansas prediction upside down.

A new name for those following Kentucky basketball recruiting, Hickman is a 6-2 point guard from Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Rankings vary enormously; He is the thirteenth playmaker and 76th player overall according to Rivals, against 247 Sports which ranks Hickman third in the best pointers and 30th overall.

An astute ball handler, in his junior high school season, Hickman averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 38 percent from behind the three-point line.
