RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Savannah Spurlock's search is over.

At a press conference held in Richmond on Thursday afternoon, the Kentucky state police confirmed that the remains found on a property in Garrard County were those of Savannah Spurlock.

Spurlock was last seen on January 4th, leaving the Other Bar in Lexington with three men.

One of these men, David Sparks, was arrested and charged Thursday morning.

This occurred after a family member, Alan Sparks, called his lawyer on Wednesday to report a foul odor on his property located on Fall Lick Road.

Investigators say that, in addition to the fact that David Sparks "is the main suspect in an investigation of missing persons", they have led them to search the property.

The investigators discovered human remains broken down during the search of the property.

The remains were transported to the state medical examiner's office and were clearly identified as those of Spurlock.

Sparks is accused of tampering with material evidence and abusing a corpse.

He appeared in Garrard County Court Thursday afternoon, pleading not guilty.
