Breath of the Wild 2 release date teased by Nintendo Insider

One of the biggest questions regarding video games in 2021 concerns Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and its exit prospects during the calendar year. Well, according to a potential Nintendo insider, it looks like fans should expect to get their hands on the game before the end of the year.

In a new tweet from a Brazilian streamer who has had Nintendo-related scoops in the past, he was teased that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be released this year. This information was teased in a post that resulted in “Happy 2021” alongside images of four Nintendo franchises that the insider seems to believe we’ll see this year. One of these photos was from Breath of the Wild 2 which seems like a clear clue to the game’s potential launch window.

Obviously with this information comes a major caveat in that we don’t know if it will turn out to be true. It is not known if the Insider has specific knowledge of Nintendo’s release plans for Breath of the Wild 2 or if this is just their own estimate of what could be released in 2021. So with that in mind, take this whole situation with a pretty big grain of salt.

What we know for sure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 right now is that, well, it’s in development – that’s about it. Nintendo hasn’t said a peek at the highly anticipated sequel since its first reveal at E3 2019. All of 2020 has come and gone without Nintendo giving us any new details about the game, which is a little disappointing. While it doesn’t seem out of the question that BOTW 2 could be released this year, we still have a lot to learn.
