Nintendo Switch is set to receive an all-new controller based on the beloved soon The Legend of Zelda franchise. Specifically, this new controller is going to be modeled after the very popular entry The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and highlights the main character of the game on the front panel. While the controller itself is not the one released by Nintendo, its sleek look would definitely be a good addition to any Switch collection.
This new specific Breath of the wild controller comes through PowerA, which is a third party controller company. The new controller in question is known as the “Blood Moon Zelda” model and features Zelda herself on the right side of the front panel. Meanwhile, the majority of the left and middle parts of the controller are occupied by Calamity Ganon, who is the main villain found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You can see the controller itself in the image below.
Overall, this controller is obviously meant to be a third-party equivalent of the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. This means that it comes with Bluetooth technology so you can wirelessly play any game you might like in portable or docked mode. It is also said to have a battery life of up to 30 hours and also comes with a 10ft USB-C cable so you can charge it. Finally, and perhaps the most unique of all, it also includes two additional buttons not visible on the standard Pro controller on the back. These “advanced game buttons” can be programmed to work however you want.
As for the release date of this new Zelda controller, it should arrive next month on August 15th. It will also cost $ 54.99, which is actually less than what Nintendo charges for its own Pro controller model.
So what do you think of this news Breath of the wild controller? Do you think you could pick it up yourself next month? Let me know either in the comments or on Twitter at @ Mooreman12.
