Breath of the Wild feels totally different with a realistic look

What a transformation

Ever wondered how a game like Zelda: Breath of nature would he go with a darker and more realistic style? Thanks to modders and the Wii U Cemu emulator, we must not put our imagination to the test.

Arkh Longstride, a YouTube user, presents this curious showcase of how determining aesthetic choices for the mood were crucial for Breath of nature. The sequence shows the game being run on a PC with the lush effect "cel-shaded" off, and the end result is downright transformative. The world is moving from this gay, inviting and whimsical place to a bleak and almost hopeless atmosphere.

That said, I will never tire of seeing Breath of nature with extra bells and whistles and higher than normal frame rates. Accessories for all those who have the patience to make this version of PC work.

This second video of Arkh is more what we are used to since the unmodified version of the game on Wii U and Switch. It uses the same settings as before, but it's daylight, there's "a little fog," and the Clarity preset has been swapped "for once more colorful than people have asked for."

An interesting experience, of course. I imagine a potential Mask of Majora successor in this vein.
