Much like his fellow Millennials (who may or may not be technically over 100 due to Calamity-induced death sleep), Breath of the wild‘s Link dreams of becoming an owner. Unlike the rest of us, he can actually achieve this. There’s just one problem: the house is bad. Between the initial purchase and upgrades, it costs 4,400 rupees, and it ends up being little more than a glorified storage unit. Thank goodness for a new mod that beautifies the place a bit.

Mod “Home Improvements” mod by Modder Waikuteru does exactly what it says on the box, adding a stable, fishing pond, kitchen area, better bed that gives you extra hearts when you wake up and your own cucco buddy that you can extract from eggs. There are also some fun new decorations, including concept artwork on the walls, and you can access them anytime with a custom chain stitch (which, in a smart trick, automatically banishes the weather every time you get it). use).

“This mod reinvents owning a house in BotW to make it a worthwhile buy – something you’ll want to use regularly – all the time, maintaining the feel and balance of the original game, ” Waikuteru wrote in a video description on YouTube.

It’s a good start – a feature that, frankly, should have been in the game from the start. Having said that, I will not rest until I am able to tame all of the Hyrule dogs, in which case they will make their home in the fields around my house and live in a state of perpetual bliss. If modders can’t do this, consider it a request for Breath of the Wild 2. Otherwise, at least let me stroke them!
