LOS ANGELES – Drew Brees was sidelined for the second time in 14 years as a quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

Brees was replaced by Teddy Bridgewater at the end of the first quarter after his throwing right hand hit the Los Angeles Rams' defensive tackle's hand at the end of an incomplete pass. Brees, 40, missed just one start because of an injury since high school – when he missed a match of the third week at Carolina Panthers in 2015 with an injury to the shoulder.
