Brian Brooks, the former head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency who became CEO of BinanceUS this spring, has resigned.
Brooks announced his decision in a tweet Friday afternoon. He highlighted “differences on strategic direction” but did not elaborate. He began his role with the US-based company on May 1.
Greetings #crypto community. I let you know that I have resigned as CEO of@BinanceUS. Despite the differences on the strategic direction, I wish my former colleagues every success. New exciting things to come!

Shortly after Brooks’ announcement, BinanceUS released a statement from Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance and chairman of the US Stock Exchange. Zhao said that “this transition will have no impact on BinanceUS clients.”
