Brian Flores: If Tua Tagovailoa is in good health, he is the starter

The Dolphins won with Ryan Fitzpatrick in the quarterback on Sunday, but there’s no question who they see as their No.1 quarterback going forward.

Head coach Brian Flores didn’t hesitate when asked who will start against the Bengals next week if Tua Tagovailoa is allowed to recover from the left thumb injury that left him slipping away from the Jets.

“If he’s healthy he’s the guy,” Flores said in his post-match press conference.

Flores said Tagovailoa was close to being able to play, but the team wanted to make “good decisions” about his health. Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns in the 20-3 win and Flores said he played “well” even though there was no idea coming back to him full time.
