Brian Laundrie’s sister shared one of her latest texts with Gabby Petito – as well as postcards the Long Island native sent to the woman’s children on her fateful trip across the country with her boyfriend.
WABC reporter Kristin Thorne posted on twitter a screenshot Cassie Laundrie shared during her interview with “Good Morning America”.
“Ahh oh my God, I can’t believe school has already started !!! Haha I saw your post on Instagram! So cute!! Send me the photo of the boys to show Brian !! Lol and I also love their backpacks !! ” Petito texted Cassie on August 10, as shown in the screenshot.
“We’re in the arches right now so we don’t have to be [sic] better WiFi, but we sent you mail, ”she added, apparently referring to Arches National Park north of Moab in Utah.
Petito also sent Cassie several postcards, including from Goblin Valley State Park and Red Canyon in Utah, which are part of the Dixie National Forest about 10 miles from Bryce.
“Guess what !! Oh my God! My uncle Brian and I were sitting on a rock having a snack after our long walk, and the biggest squirrel I have ever seen !!! Came right into my lap !! And with his little hands stole a piece of the granola bar I was eating !! Can you believe it! ” Petito wrote.
“He has to steal everyone’s food… oh man!” It’s wild! A squirrel!!!! MDR! Aunt Gabby, ”she added.
In another postcard shared with “GMA” she wrote: “Uncle Brian and I miss you so much!” Everywhere we go Reminds us of you, like the Red Rocks in Bryce Canyon! The sky here is so open, there are more stars than I have ever seen !! ”
She added, “The Scorpio is so big and shiny every night! It’s always the first me and uncle Brian Spot! I love Aunt Gabby.
In her interview on Friday, Cassie admitted that she had yet to speak to her brother after returning to Florida in the couple’s van without Petito on September 1.
“I couldn’t speak to him. I wish I had some information where I could give more, ”Cassie said, adding that she had told the police everything she knew. It was not clear what information she was able to provide to investigators.
Brian, who refused to cooperate with the police, was accused by Petito’s family of withholding valuable information about his whereabouts.
On Sunday, the FBI confirmed that the body found in a Wyoming national park is likely the 22-year-old Long Island native.
Her boyfriend also went missing last week, prompting a massive search of the 25,000-acre Carlton Reservation near her parents’ home in North Port, Florida.
