Brian May denounces anti-vaxxer rock star ‘fruit cakes’ and blames Boris Johnson for ‘thousands’ of Covid-19 deaths

Queen guitarist Brian May called anti-vaxxer rock stars such as Eric Clapton, Ian Brown and Richard Ashcroft “fruit cakes”, and delivered a damning verdict on the management by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the Covid-19 pandemic, claiming that “thousands” have died because of “bad decisions Boris made”.

“I think it would have been impossible for anyone to make worse decisions than Boris,” May says in a new interview with The Independent. “At every moment, he has done too little, too late. Hundreds, if not thousands of our loved ones have died because of bad advice and because of the bad decisions Boris made with [disgraced former Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt] Hancock and these other people. If he had taken the precautions to close the borders a year earlier, we would not have been in the situation we are in.

“And the fact that he’s willing to trade lives openly enough for economic gain, I find horrible… completely unacceptable,” May adds. “It’s like Winston Churchill goes out into his garden and sees the planes above his head and the bodies and thinks to himself ‘the bombs are falling! The bombs are falling! Should we hide? No, in fact, let’s think about the economic consequences of hiding… ‘”

May also despises the positions taken by Eric Clapton, former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, who have all insisted they will not play concerts where audiences are required to show “Covid passports” to be admitted.
