British actress Kathryn Prescott, known for her work on the British television series “Skins”, is hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a cement truck in New York City earlier this week.
Her twin sister Megan Prescott, also a star of the “Skins” series, broke the news in a Instagram post Thursday.

“I received the most terrifying phone call I have ever received in my life on Tuesday night. My twin sister Kathryn was hit by a cement truck while crossing a road in New York City on September 7, ”Megan wrote.
“After battling a complex surgery, some of Kathryn’s injuries include: a broken pelvis in two places, both of her legs, her foot and her left hand,” she said. “She is incredibly lucky to be alive. She narrowly avoided paralysis. Doctors hope she makes a full recovery, but this will only be possible with the right care now. “
Megan is stranded in the UK due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, and the US Embassy has reportedly denied her request for an exemption. Only US citizens and lawful permanent residents are currently allowed to travel between the UK and the US, with a few exceptions.
“She is alone in New York with no family member. I need help getting to New York to support her recovery, ”Megan wrote.
The location of the accident and the location of Kathryn being treated are unknown at this time.
