The woman who has been in charge of many Britney spears“ Personal choices for about 2 years have done a good job – says Britney herself, who asks to hire him definitively – but her lawyer wants to reserve the right to end the guardianship.
New court documents have just been filed in Britney’s guardianship case, and they reveal the singer wants Jodi montgomery become the new full-time curator of her person in the future … while noting that she asked for her father, Jamie spears, to resign from his post for good.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Britney notes that Jamie relinquished this power temporarily in September 2019 … and Jodi was made temporary curator of her person at that time. Now, it looks like Britney wants to keep Jodi in the position going forward. Sources related to the case tell us … Jamie has no objection to the change, and Britney really likes Jodi in the role. He’s okay with that.
As to the difference between Britney’s person curator and Britney’s estate – the latter Jamie is still co-curator alongside Bessemer Trust Company – is that Jodi is basically in charge of Brit’s personal decisions, which involves a lot in her daily life.
The documents outline exactly what they want Jodi to keep operating in regards to Britney’s welfare – which includes the power to restrict visitors (as long as she doesn’t have access to a lawyer), to withhold guards and security guards for Britney, pursue civil harassment restraining orders that may arise and the authority to communicate with medical staff regarding any treatment for Britney.
As co-curator of the field, Jamie continues to play a role in managing her finances and business decisions.
Here is another interesting line in the documents that Britney’s team filed … “The petitioner expressly reserves the right to request the termination of this guardianship under Article 1861 of the Homologation Code. Nothing in the petition contained will not be deemed to constitute a waiver of this right. ” Do what you want with it … but it’s underlined and bold.
