Britney Spears’ personal curator Jodi Montgomery is criticizing Jamie Spears for claiming she would not allow him to communicate with her daughter or be involved in decisions related to her guardianship.
In documents filed in Los Angeles court Friday by Montgomery attorney Lauriann Wright, the Conservative condemns Britney’s father for attempting to blame Montgomery for the alleged treatment of the singer under his tutelage, which was revealed during Britney’s explosive hearing on June 23.
“It is ironic that Mr. Spears now wants the guardianship ‘to reflect his wishes’ because it is no secret that Ms. Spears wished her father would leave his life for years,” she said in the document.
Through his attorney, Montgomery also alleges that Jamie used “over $ 2 million of his daughter’s money” to defend himself in an effort to remain the steward of his estate.
A representative for Jamie did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the allegations.

Montgomery claims in the record that it is impossible for Jamie to ignore his daughter’s life for the past 21 months (since Montgomery has taken over as curator in his person) because “everything costs money “.

In the filing, Montgomery and his attorney say Spears “unequivocally disagrees” with Ingham’s demand that his resignation be effective “upon the appointment of a new court-appointed counsel.”
“After 13 years as a court-appointed lawyer, she wants to choose her own lawyer,” reads the document. “At the hearing on June 23, 2021, Ms Spears addressed the court and repeatedly expressed her desire to choose her own lawyer, without further medical assessment.”

Montgomery’s court record included screenshots of Spears – listed as Jane Doe – texting her, saying, “I need you to stay on as the person’s co-restaurateur. I’m asking for your help. to get a new lawyer. ”(Montgomery said Tuesday that she would not resign since Spears had asked her to stay.)

The court battle over Britney’s guardianship has intensified since she told court in explosive testimony that she never knew she could file a lawsuit to end it.
“I want changes, I deserve changes. I have been told that I have to be seated and assessed again,” she told the court, then addressing the judge directly. “Ma’am, I didn’t know I could ask for the end of the guardianship. Honestly, I didn’t know.”
“Honestly, I don’t think I should be evaluated on anyone,” she added. “I’ve done more than enough.”
Earlier this week, Larry Rudolph resigned as manager of Spears, citing the singer’s desire to retire from music. And last week, Bessemer Trust, who had been selected as co-curator of the Spears estate in November 2020, resigned her post citing her desire to end trusteeship as a whole.
