Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker coach Britt Reid “is doing better” after undergoing surgery for an injury in a crash last week that seriously injured a 5-year-old, Andy said Reid Monday.
Britt Reid’s father Andy Reid was asked about his son again on Monday during his post-Super Bowl press conference. The multicar accident left two children injured.

“This little girl, my heart goes out to her,” Andy Reid said, via KSHB-TV.
He added that his son “is doing better now”.
“I had the chance to speak to her. Again my heart goes out to this young woman. I’m a dad too, so I understand. Obviously I have concerns on both sides,” he said.
Tiffany Verhulst, who created the GoFundMe donation page, provided a brief update on Ariel’s status on Sunday.
“Ariel remains in the hospital in critical condition and is not awake,” she wrote. “No progress update at this time. Thank you to everyone who has donated to support the family through this difficult time, we are so grateful.”
Britt Reid, 35, was under investigation for drunk driving in Kansas City, Missouri, after police said he was involved in a multiple-car crash near Arrowhead Stadium, a reported FOX4 KC. Reid reportedly told police he had had 2-3 drinks and was taking an Adderall prescription at the time of the incident.

The station obtained police documents corresponding to the details of the accident. The documents say Reid told police he was driving a van involved in the crash and told an officer he had had between two and three drinks and was on Adderall’s prescription. The station reported that no names were identified in the police report.
The accident took place near the south ramp of I-435, according to FOX4 KC. A driver of a Chevrolet Impala ran out of gas and on the ramp called for help, police said. The police report said the hazard lights were flashing, but the car’s battery was starting to die when a family arrived in a Chevrolet Traverse and parked near them with their headlights on.
The station reported, citing crash documents, that a white Dodge pickup was traveling south on the ramp to the freeway when the driver collided with the Impala and collided with the Traverse from behind.
The Impala driver was inside the car at the time of the crash and was not injured and two adults from the Traverse were also not injured, according to the station.
Another child sustained non-life threatening injuries.
