A video of a sequence of the Chicago Police Service was leaked on social media and shows the fatal murder of an unarmed woman holding her baby. CBS Chicago reports that the video shows 24-year-old mother Brittany Hill being shot at close range by a person driving in a car west of Chicago. CBS Chicago announced that the shooting had occurred in the 1200 block of North Mason Avenue, in the far west, around 8:50 am on Tuesday, May 28. The video comes from a city camera located in the Division and Mason areas.
The video shows that while Hill is coming out of his black sedan, a silver Chevrolet Impala is driving down the street and heading for her. According to the police, the occupants got out of the car and started firing. Hill's death was declared dead at 9:25 am at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. The northern zone detectives are investigating and believe that the shooting was not a random act and that the woman had been targeted because of gang conflict, Tannehill said.
The video footage was leaked on social media without the express consent of the Chicago Police Department, who called it "unauthorized release". The police have now indicted Michael Washington, 39, and Eric Adams, 23, in connection with Hill's death.
Legal analyst Irv Miller told CBS Chicago that the footage should not have been leaked and that the thousands of views generated by the video could complicate the lawsuits.
"This is a major mistake made by a law enforcement official," he said. "It has to come from the Chicago Police Department or someone from the State Attorney's Office – they are the only ones who have access to it during this limited time."
He also explained what it meant to prosecute the two men accused of the murder.
"If this information is disclosed, if the public sees it now, problems may arise later in the trial because the jurors, and we are all potential jurors, can not be exposed to such things before trial, "said Miller. .
The video broadcast could make it difficult to search for an impartial juror or force the transfer of the trial.

Hill's family said they knew about the release of the video but would not comment.
