The new Chiefs Kingdom member has arrived.
On Sunday, Brittany Matthews, fiancée of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, announced the birth of the couple’s first child, a baby girl named Sterling.
“Sterling Skye Mahomes,” Brittany posted on Instagram, noting that the couple’s bundle of joy was born on Saturday and weighs 6 pounds, 11 ounces.
In a photo shared on his page, Matthews wears a “Sterling” necklace while giving a glimpse of his newborn daughter’s hand. Mahomes, 25, also posted the same image.
Before Sterling’s birth, Matthews shared photos from her maternity shoot with Mahomes.
“My king,” she gushed on Instagram at the time.
Matthews, a certified personal trainer, announced her pregnancy in September, the same month she and Mahomes got engaged.
“Mom and dad taking a little detour for the wedding,” Matthews said on Instagram at the time.
Mahomes, the 2020 Super Bowl MVP, signed the richest contract in sports history over the summer, a 10-year extension with the Chiefs worth $ 503 million.
The Chiefs recently fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2021 Super Bowl earlier this month.
