The star of "Love & Hip Hop" who claims that rapper Remy Ma assaulted her is now facing charges – for attacking a witness, the newspaper learned.
Brittney Taylor, 30, was arrested on Friday morning for allegedly assaulting Dina Khalil's 42nd Street West apartment near 11th Avenue, police and sources said Saturday.
Taylor started arguing with Khalil at around 6:45 am when Taylor allegedly scratched her, police said. Taylor would then have followed Khalil into the lobby and thrown a cell phone in his face.
Taylor was arrested at the scene and charged with assault. She appeared before a judge on Friday, where she was released on bail, a Manhattan court clerk said.
The promised reality star and rapper claimed to have been attacked several months ago by her casting mate Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Smith. Smith reportedly hit Taylor in the right eye during the "Concert for the Benefits of the Pretty Lou" at Irving Plaza on April 16, police said at the time.
Smith surrendered on May 1 and was charged with third-degree assault.
Eric Sanders, Smith's Civil Lawyer, said that the arrest raised concerns about the case of assault against the rapper.
"Clearly, this arrest creates a major credibility problem for the prosecution. [Taylor’s lawyer in the case] Mr. Rubenstein to face, "Sanders said in a statement in the mail. "Whatever it is, we intend to continue to ensure that Remy is fully justified."
