The NBA has broken a series of draws that gives teams a little more clarity as to their position for the official draw of the lottery in May.
In situations where teams have finished the season with identical records, the best draft is awarded to the winner of a draw.
Below is a list of broken ties …

Cleveland (Winner) -> # 2
Phoenix -> # 3
Analysis: Due to the new lottery rules that soften the percentage of winners among the top three teams, it does not have much impact. This means, however, that Phoenix's worst case scenario is now slightly worse. The Suns could fall to 6th place if they jump to the lottery, while Cleveland could only be 5th.

New Orleans (Winner) -> # 7
Memphis (potentially Boston *) -> # 8
Atlanta (from Dallas *) -> # 9
Analysis: If the choice of Memphis ranks among the top eight, he will go to Boston. If Atlanta slips into the top five, he will stay with Dallas.
