Brooke Shields is on the mend after breaking her femur and takes it one step at a time in a video she posted to Instagram. Known for her positive attitude, the 55-year-old star posted a short clip of herself learning to walk again on Sunday and her famous friends and fans have all responded with messages of love and support.

“I broke my femur,” Shields wrote in the caption of the video which shows her walking on crutches in a hospital gown and non-slip socks. “Start fixing. Whatever your challenge, make a positive choice, for yourself, to move forward,” she posted, adding the hashtag #BeginningisNow.

“Crutches come first”, we hear from the person helping him with his rehabilitation.

“And it’s only 20% weight …” Shields confirms, being careful not to place too much weight on his injured femur. “I hung out, sorry,” she apologizes.

Throughout the short video, Shields seems eager to get moving as she learns the correct way to use her crutches.

“One and two,” she said as she walked. “One and… the point is to bend the knee every time like a little bit just so you don’t slide it or hitch the hip, right?” she asks as she walks forward.

“Ouch !!! Quick recovery! You are one of the strongest girls I know,” commented actor Debi Mazar.

“Will get better soon!” Kyle Richards replied.

“Oh no!” posted “Odd Mom Out” writer / actor Jill Kargman. “I’m sending you love, Brooke.”

“Brooke! posted Glenn Close. “So sorry! Courage … it’s in your blood,” the actor wrote.

Shields has not disclosed the cause of her injury, but she has been known to have published articles about her love of fitness, including the home workouts she was doing during the pandemic.

Earlier this month, she posted a comeback photo of herself in ski gear.

“#Tbt,” she captioned the photo, adding a skier emoji.

She has also posted full videos of her home workouts with coach Ngo Okafor.

We wish the star a speedy recovery as she maintains her incredibly positive outlook!
