The Giants have agreed to exchange Odell Beckham Jr. against the Cleveland Browns, confirmed a source to Adam Schefter of ESPN, as part of a large-scale contract that sends the star catcher to New York less than a year after signing a massive contract with the team.
The Giants will receive the Browns first-round pick in 2019 (17th overall), their third-round pick this year (95th overall) and Jabrill Peppers safety for Beckham, the source said.
"Wow," Beckham told ESPN's Josina Anderson about the trade.

Giants can no longer ride the repopulation line on the fly or trying to compete. They start again, even if it is a year too late.

Questions of "what's going on?" to claims of "false information", players are surprised by the fabulous exchange of its star catcher in New York with Cleveland.

Beckham added to Anderson that the current Browns receiver and former LSU teammate, Jarvis Landry, had called him to announce that Cleveland General Manager John Dorsey and his freshman coach Freddie Kitchens, Desperately wanted. Beckham then said that the chief executive of the giants, Dave Gettleman, had called him and told him, "I'm negotiating with the Browns".
Beckham, 26, signed a five-year megadeal deal with the Giants worth up to $ 98.5 million last August. That made him the NFL's highest-paid receiver at the time and seemed to cement his place on the Giants' lineup.
But after another disastrous season in which the Giants lost to 5-11 and Beckham had several incidents that angered the brass of the team, the Giants decided to move it after spending 21, $ 5 million for 12 games. The deal also adds $ 16 million of dead money to their cumulative total.
The Giants did not shop in Beckham during the off season. But they were willing to listen to the offers and some teams were interested in his services. Among them were the Browns and San Francisco 49ers, sources said.
However, Gettleman had not publicly indicated that the Giants were interested in an agreement. He said at his year-end press conference and again during last month's NFL surveillance campaign, "We did not hire Odell to negotiate it.
That changed on Tuesday, however, as Dorsey proposed a package that the Giants simply could not resist.
"John Dorsey is officially a genius …" tweeted Browns defender Damarious Randall.
Beckham will join Landry, his good friend, as the first tandem of the championship receiving a double, which will undoubtedly delight the quarterback of the second year and the choice No. 1 of 2018, Baker Mayfield. Mayfield and Beckham are already tight; They spent part of last summer working in California with Landry, who has been campaigning since his arrival in Cleveland for his former university teammate to join him.
When the news of the deal was announced, Mayfield posted on Twitter a picture of him shaking hands with Beckham. "Movement" was the legend.
Beckham and Landry recorded 288 receptions each in their first three seasons in the NFL. Only Michael Thomas of the Saints of New Orleans recorded more (321). Beckham has been explosive throughout his NFL career with 12 touchdown touchdowns with at least 20 yards following the most championship passes since 2014. Landry is more of a short-to-intermediate runner with average career goal depth of 7.2 meters, which ranks 87th out of 92 wide receivers with at least 200 targets in this period (since 2014).
Current Browns receiver coach Adam Henry coached both receivers at the LSU, where both stars played.
Top scorer Nick Chubb, who racked up the highest number of rushing yards by a Browns rookie (996), and David Njoku, who in 2018 was in the top 10 among tight goals in receiving (56) and receiving sites (639).
Cleveland has been busy this off season. He signed a one-year contract with offensive midfielder Kareem Hunt (he is currently on the commissioner's exempt list) and also brought in linebacker Olivier Vernon via another exchange with the Giants and defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson.
New York appears to be in rebuilding mode, negotiating Vernon, not putting a franchise label on security Landon Collins (who will sign with the Washington Redskins) and now taking care of his best playmaker.
The Giants now have three of the top 37 picks in April and 12 in all. Peppers, from New Jersey, will help fill the void left by Collins' departure. First-round pick in 2017, he struggled as a rookie but rebounded and played well last season.
The news of the Beckham agreement, which was first reported by NFL Network, had an immediate impact in Las Vegas. Cleveland's chances of winning the Super Bowl went from 25-1 to 14-1 at the Westgate Supergate Las Vegas. His chances of winning the AFC went from 12-1 to 7-1, behind only Kansas City and New England (3-1).
The Browns were 7-8-1 last season after not winning a game in 2017. They have not reached the playoffs since 2002.
"Absolutely," said Myles Garrett of the Browns' pass to the NFL Network when asked if the Browns were now the team to beat in the AFC North. "I think the wind has turned and we can not wait to go out and prove it."
Meanwhile, the New York Super Bowl odds increased from 40-1 to 80-1 and the NFC title from 20-1 to 40-1, by Westgate.
