Browns held a virtual meeting with CB Northwestern Greg Newsome

Normally at this time of year, the Cleveland Browns would be with all the other NFL teams at the annual combine scouting in Indianapolis. The combine is not happening this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a key part of the combine experience for teams is still going virtually.

Player meetings and team interviews with potential candidates are continuing. One of the players the Browns have met recently is a promising and interesting player, Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II.

Newsome is typically screened between No.25 and No.50 overall, a range that includes Brown’s top pick to No.26 overall. His ability to play the ball in the air and use his length and footballing sense has made Newsome a hot prospect and it’s heartening to hear the Browns have met before.
