Cody Parkey won’t kick for the Browns in 2021.

Parkey injured his quad in Sunday’s game against the Giants and Browns, head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday the veteran was heading to the injured reserve. He won’t be able to return to the active Browns roster, but could end up elsewhere if he’s healthy and clear of the injured reserve.

Parkey’s decision is one of five the Browns will need to make to reduce their roster to 80 players by Tuesday afternoon’s deadline. Another will likely include moving linebacker Montrel Meander to the injured reserve as Stefanski has said he’s ready to have surgery on his Achilles.

Several reports also indicate that the Browns will eliminate wide receiver Alexander Hollins. Hollins joined the Browns’ practice squad at the end of last season and caught two passes for 46 yards in five games for the Vikings in 2019.
