This morning, TMZ reported that in November, Bruce Springsteen was arrested and charged with impaired driving, reckless driving and drinking alcohol in a closed area. The incident occurred at Gateway National Recreation Area in New Jersey. A spokeswoman for the National Park Service confirmed the November 14 arrest to The New York Times, adding, “Springsteen has cooperated throughout the process.”

In the wake of the TMZ report, Springsteen’s Super Bowl ad for Jeep was removed from YouTube, as InsideHook notes. The ad, titled “The Middle,” marked Springsteen’s very first commercial appearance. Additionally, he and Ron Aniello wrote and produced the music for the commercial, according to a press release from Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis. “The Middle” is still available on Springsteen’s Instagram.

Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Jeep and Bruce Springsteen for comment and more information.
