Bruins Wrap: David Krejci's late goal gives Boston a 3-2 victory over Senators | Bruins Wrap

BOSTON – The Boston Bruins continue to look for ways to win.

After winning an absolute thriller against a win Thursday against the Florida Panthers, the Bruins have done so again on Saturday. David Krejci's goal, with 44.7 seconds to go, gave the B's a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators at TD Garden, scoring 19 points.

Brad Marchand and Chris Wagner scored for the other Boston goals, while Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Brady Tkachuk scored for Ottawa.

Tuukka Rask made 17 saves for the Bruins, while Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson repelled 28 shots.

The Bruins climbed to 42-17-9 with the win, while the Senators dropped to 23-40-6 with the loss.

Here is how it all happened:

CALM FIRST
Both teams had their chances in the first half, but neither team managed to find the back of the net.

Each team spent some time on the personal advantage, with the Bruins having scored 1:37 on the power play and the Senators in 3:35. The Bruins dominated the Senators 12-6 in opening.

APECE
The match remained scoreless until the end of the second period, but both teams showed a slight offense in the back half of the stanza.

Magnus Paajarvi was whistled for hanging Noel Acciari at 9:04 of the match, and just over a minute later, the Bruins scored the first goal of the match.

After Anderson's attempt to clean up failed, Patrice Bergeron put a puck to Anderson's blocked goal. The puck went to Torey Krug to the point and the defender began to skate deeper into the area. He sent a pass through the area to Marchand, and the winger brought home a wringer at 10:11.

The Bruins' advantage, however, was short-lived.

In the defensive zone, Patrice Bergeron skated behind the net, then went back and tried to throw the puck around the boards. His pass caught Zdeno Chara and deflected to the near post. Tkachuk managed to get a pass for Pageau, who rushed to the top of the board and tied a goal in front of Rask.

Boston won the second period battle 14-8.

THRILLER … STILL
Once again, the Bruins used late fireworks to win.

Charlie McAvoy badly played the puck at his own blue line and Chris Tierney picked it up and went into the offensive zone. Tierney took a shot at goal, which Rask blocked in front of him. Krug headed for Rask to pick up the puck, but while he was trying to avoid trouble, Tierney stole the puck. Although Tierney quickly lost possession of the ball on the doorstep, Tkachuk rushed inside and buried the loose puck at 2:46.

Later in the period, Wagner made a change to lock things together.

The two teams playing four against four, Krug danced on the point with the puck before throwing it to the goal. Wagner understood almost nothing, but it was enough to slow the puck and redirect it, letting Andrew go, which was clearly being countered by the change in speed and heading of the puck.

With less than a minute to play, the Bruins have won.

Danton Heinen crossed the gap and put a shot on goal. Krejci was about to hit Anderson to score the winning goal with 44.7 seconds to play.

FOLLOWING
The Bruins will take the road and play the second leg of their return match Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The PPG Paints Arena pucks start at 7:30 pm AND.
