As “Breaking Bad” alum Bryan Cranston recovered from COVID-19, the actor recently revealed that he has yet to regain his full sense of taste or smell.

Cranston, 64, and his wife, Robin Dearden, contracted the virus in March.

“It was a surprise to us because we heard it was going to happen, and then all of a sudden she got it first. She gave it to me because we share, ”he said during his appearance Thursday on“ The Ellen DeGeneres Show ”.

“We’ve had a few sore days, but not enough to keep you in bed,” Cranston said. “I had a temperature of 99 ° C for about three hours and then exhausted for a week after that.”

The “Malcolm in the Middle” actor has been ill for about 10 days, and although he has made a full recovery, symptoms persist.

“The only thing that persisted, and still is today, is that I lost a percentage of my ability to taste and smell,” he says. “I think about 75% came back, but if someone was making coffee and I walked into a kitchen, I couldn’t… smell it.”

The Emmy winner has previously opened up about his diagnosis, telling fans he feels lucky to have only mild symptoms.

“I count my blessings and I urge you to keep wearing that damn mask,” Cranston pleaded. “Continue to wash your hands and stay socially distant. We can win, but only if we follow the rules together. “
