Bryan Danielson of AEW recently had an interview with wdel.com where he explained in more detail his decision to sign with AEW after decades of working with WWE. “The American Dragon” was thrilled to try out a new venture that is very “wrestling-centric” because he wants to test his limits at the top of his game.
“I was just ready for something new, that was one of the main reasons,” Danielson explained. “Plus I consider this to be the pinnacle of my wrestling career, I feel like I am the best wrestler I can get and I want to be able to wrestle as hard as I want to be able to wrestle. I believe AEW is the best. place to do it AEW is a very wrestling-centric product.
“My first match was against Kenny Omega, it was 30 minutes. You very rarely get the chance to make it in WWE. I love AEW fans and my experience has been amazing so far.
While most artists would disagree, Danielson revealed that he actually enjoys wrestling in an empty setting during this era of the pandemic. Being a seasoned ring veteran, Bryan welcomes a whole new facet that will make professional wrestling a challenge.
“It’s interesting because I think I’m one of the few people who enjoys empty arena wrestling,” Danielson said. “I saw it as a huge challenge. I have been wrestling for 22 years (first match October 4, 1999), for me the uniqueness of the empty arena was invigorating. But to be fair, there’s nothing quite like a wild, rabid mob that adores wrestling.
“It’s one thing if it’s an indifferent crowd – it’s horrible. If you go there and fight hard, it’s one of the worst feelings on planet Earth. But going out there and having a crowd that’s great at what you do, there’s no such thing.
