Bryce Harper wants to bring a title to DC

Until the off season, Bryce Harper had spent his entire professional baseball career in the Nationals. He was their first pick in the 2010 draft and spent seven seasons in the Major League in Washington after his debut in 2012. It's been a little less than nine years since he called his country home.

On Thursday, Harper signed a 13-year contract with the Phillies, who, at the end of his career, will significantly reduce the time he spent with the Nationals. But, old habits are difficult and slow to break. Case in point: Harper was still talking about winning a world series for DC while he was wearing a Phillies gear.

Cut the guy a little slack! He just spent the entire off season trying to figure out where he wanted to spend the next decade or more of his life and only came to Florida on Friday with the Phillies. He deserves a period to become familiar with his new environment. His contract will certainly not take him 13 years before ceasing to refer to his home as DC.
