DeChambeau and Koepka kissed after the two contestants finished their singles matches to help the United States secure a 19-9 victory. DeChambeau beat Sergio Garcia 3 and 2, while Koepka beat Bernd Wiesberger 2 and 1. The teammates then hugged.

DeChambeau finished the tournament 2-0-1 and Koepka finished 2-2.

USA WINS FIRST RYDER CUP SINCE 2016 WITH STRONG PERFORMANCE LAST DAY

The heated rivalry between the players was the talk leading up to the Cup. But US captain Steve Stricker played down the bitterness between the two and made it clear that the issue between them will not affect America’s performance on the Whistling Straits course.

“A lot of this social media stuff has certainly been driven by a lot of external factors, not necessarily the two of us,” DeChambeau said earlier in the week, via ESPN. “We had some great conversations the week of the Tour Championship when we had dinner and then this week as well. I sat down and had dinner with him last night, and everything went well. I don’t talk too much about that.”
