Another day, Bryson DeChambeau again needed a search team to find a chance at the Masters.
On his first round Thursday, DeChambeau snagged a few tee shots on the left, and one required a trip through some shoulder-high bushes to find his ball. It was part of a day of ups and downs for the player who entered the tournament as the favorite.
On Friday, at the third par 4 hole, he sent another shot to the left that seemed to mysteriously disappear into deep, rain-soaked grass.
Bryson DeChambeau finished with a triple bogey in 3rd place after losing his tee shot in the rough. He followed with a bogey at No. 4 and sits two strokes below the intended cut line.

“So you’re saying if you can’t find it, it’s a stray bullet?” DeChambeau could be heard asking officials through the microphones on the television. This led to a rules issue, then a triple bogey on the third hole, followed by bogeys on three of the next four holes.
Golf Twitter and amateur rule experts wasted little time roasting DeChambeau for the merger.
Does this prove that Augusta National is a sensitive being? Call me a par 67, and I’ll eat your golf ball, Bryson.
