BTS’s ‘BE’ opens at # 1 with one of 2020’s biggest debuts

Less than a year after their last reign on the Billboard 200, BTS are back on top Billboard chart that ranks the most popular feature films in the United States each week. South Korean vocal group launches new release BE at # 1 with ease, proving once again that they are nearly unmatched in their popularity and ability to sell an album, which is no small feat in today’s music economy.

BE opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 242,000 staggered equivalent units. The figure includes 177,000 actual sales – a hefty sum for 2020 – as well as 30,000 equivalent streaming units, which are made up of over 48 million plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple.

BTS has now ranked five No.1 albums on the Billboard 200. Impressively, they managed to send all of their major tracks to No.1 in just about two and a half years, when they first conquered the list in May. 2018. In addition to BE, the septet reigned over the count with Love yourself: tear, Love yourself: answer, Soul Map: Persona and Soul Card: 7.

BTS also landed another top 10 on the Billboard 200, as Do you like: she peaked at # 7 in 2017. BE is the thirteenth project of the group to appear on the chart.

BE was first introduced with the single “Dynamite”, which at the time was a stand-alone track. The cup debuted at No.1 on the Hot 100, making BTS the first South Korean act to reach the top of this list of competitive songs. Since opening in # 1 in September, the disco-pop cup has earned three stays in the penthouse and many more in the top 10.

New BE The single “Life Goes On” is expected to debut in the top 10 of the upcoming Hot 100, and it is a good opening move in first place. When Billboard unveils the latest edition of the roster on Tuesday (December 1), it’s highly likely that BTS will send a handful of tracks from the project to the count.
