Buccaneers add Maral Javadifar and Lori Locust as full-time assistant coaches

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has added Maral Javadifar as an assistant coach in strength and fitness and Lori Locust as assistant coach of the defensive line. Locust and Javadifar are the first full-time coaches in the history of the franchise and the Buccaneers become the first NFL team with two coaches in the team.

"I know how difficult it can be to get this first opportunity to coach at the highest level of professional football," said the Buccaneers head coach. Bruce Arians. Javadifar recently worked as a physiotherapist at Avant Physical Therapy in Seattle, having completed her residency in Athletic Physiotherapy at the Virginia Commonwealth in August 2018. Prior to joining VCU, Javadifar worked as a physical therapist and performance coach in Virginia. He is also a guest speaker at George Mason University. A native of Queens, New York, Javadifar played basketball at Pace University in New York. After graduating from Pace with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Javadifar completed his Ph.D. in Physiotherapy from New York Medical College.

locust joins the Buccaneers after working as the coach of the Birmingham Iron Alliance defensive line at the inaugural league season this spring. In 2018, Locust served as a defensive coach trainee at Baltimore Ravens during the team's training camp and, from 2017-18, was a line / linebacker coach and co-coach. -responsible for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks special teams of the National Arena League.

A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Locust graduated from Susquehanna Township High School, where she worked as an assistant coach from 2010 to 2018. She also held the position of assistant coach with Central Penn Piranha, a semi-professional team. -professional in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from 2013 to 2016, the semi-professional team of the DMV Elite from 2016 to 18 and the Keystone Assault of the Women's Football Alliance 2017-18.

Locust began her coaching career after four years as a semi-professional soccer player. She attended the Temple University.
