Milwaukee Bucks goaltender Eric Bledsoe has agreed to a $ 70 million contract extension for four years, sources close to the league told ESPN.

Bledsoe could have become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but he wanted to play the rest of his bonus with the franchise and finalized an expansion that will begin to establish the market for free agent guards on the July market.

The Spurs have taken over Pau Gasol, paving the way for six allies to join the Bucks, said ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, sources for the league.

Bledsoe's agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, and Bucks' chief executive, Jon Horst, reached the deal on Friday, league sources said.

Bledsoe, 29, records his best season in the NBA with the East Conference leaders Bucks, averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game. He also shot 49% of his team, his best career result.

The agreement guarantees one of the Bucks' most important players in the long run and allows them to move to the free agency by focusing on keeping striker Khris Middleton, who can become a free agent in July.

The Bucks acquired Bledsoe early in the 2017-18 Phoenix Suns season. Bledsoe played nine NBA seasons with the Clippers, Suns and Bucks.

He was the 18th pick in the 2010 NBA draft in Kentucky.
