Bud Dupree reacts to tweet saying fans want him

One of the many free market passers the Tennessee Titans should consider this offseason is Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree.

Tennessee’s pass rush was among the worst in the NFL last season, totaling just 19 sacks. A talent like Dupree would be an instant upgrade, as he finished with almost half the number of sacks the Titans had as a team.

The 28-year-old former first-round pick has totaled 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons, including a career-high 11.5 in 2019, then eight in a 2020 season in which he has played 11 games due to a torn ACL injury.

Former Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster recently retweeted a Titans fan who is on board with the team signing Dupree, and the rider responded:

Spotrac estimates that Dupree will land a four-year, $ 72.8 million contract, which works out to $ 18.2 million per year.

It just seems based on his past production, but one has to wonder if Dupree’s injury will hurt his value a bit. Sure, he’s ready to go to training camp, but it usually takes a season for a player to really get back into shape after such a serious injury, hence the risk.
