Bud Light sells beer in rainbow bottles in June to celebrate the month of pride

In two decades of partnership with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Bud Light has not let down the gay community. And light beer manufacturers are still not up to par.

Bud Light will sell rainbow-colored aluminum bottles in bars from May 27 to June 30 nationwide and give GLAAD $ 1 of every box sold.

Rainbow bottles are part of GLAAD's proud month actions this year. It is also a sponsor of the Governors Ball Music Festival, which will be held from May 31 to June 2 in New York, and which will host on its own stage a selection of fully LGBT artists.

The company's support for the LGBT community dates back to the 1980s, said Andy Goeler, vice president of marketing, in a press release.

"Our way of seeing things, our beer is appreciated by everyone," Goeler said. "With the release of these new bottles, we hope to create something that everyone can be proud to own during the month of Pride."

The month of pride is celebrated every June. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York, which launched the gay rights movement.

"Bud Light is being held alongside the community at a time when many brands were not doing it, and their unconditional support has paved the way for other international brands," said Zeke Stokes, responsible programs at GLAAD, in a new press release.
