Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen never wants to leave after fans honor late grandmother

Following the outpouring of support after his grandmother’s death, Bills quarterback Josh Allen professed his love for the city of Buffalo and its people.

He is not ready to give up this love.

Allen said on Wednesday he would like to play his career with the Bills, his statement coming two years after making him the most drafted quarterback in franchise history.

In honor of Allen’s grandmother, Bills fans donated money to Oishei Children’s Hospital, mostly in $ 17 increments, representing Allen’s jersey number. Donations began Sunday evening; Wednesday afternoon, the hospital had received more than $ 300,000.

“My family is forever engraved here, me included. I don’t ever want to leave, ”Allen said. “I want to play as long as possible and give back to this community and to Bills Mafia.”

Allen is currently the third passer in the NFL, with 2,587 yards and 19 touchdowns against five interceptions in nine games. He won his second AFC Offensive Player of the Week title after tying a career-high 415 passing yards and four total TDs against Seattle in Week 9.

The third-year quarterback was also the conference’s offensive player of the month in September. He’s on track to reach career highs in all passing categories this season and is eligible for his fifth-year option to be exercised this next offseason.
