Buffalo Sabers defenseman Nathan Beaulieu gives way to Winnipeg Jets

The Buffalo Sabers sent defenseman Nathan Beaulieu to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a sixth round pick.

It has not yet been indicated from which preliminary year the choice of the sixth round has been made or whether there are conditions.

Beaulieu, 26, has played 89 games with the Sabers, collecting a total of four goals and 12 assists in his career with blue and gold. The former first-round pick will be directed to the Jets as a depth defender of a Stanley Cup contender. The athlete from Stratford, Ont., Was part of six total Jets transactions on the day of the deadline.

The Jets needed a little deep on their blue line after the defeat of one of the top four defensemen last night at Josh Morrissey. Winnipeg added a few more depth players at the end of the day.
