[2018 LCK Summer Day 19] Griffin stays in 1st place, defeats HLE KT

Griffin and Hanwha Life Esports defeated Afreeca Freecs and kt Rolster, who had played in Rift Rivals.

On July 11 (KST), day 19 of the LCK 2018 Summer Division, Griffin (GRF) defeated Afreeca Freecs (AFs) and maintained their place at the top of the standings. Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) added a win to kt Rolster (KT) and moved to another place. Coincidentally, the two teams that played in Rift Rivals lost.

The first match took place between the GRF and the AF. GRF dominated the first match. By aggressively interfering with the jungle of the opponent, GRF took the first blood and took the lead. AFs tried to return the table with a half-way teamfight, but Choi's "Sword" Gnar Sung-won denied that attempt. GRF closed the game with a buff baron.

The second match was full of ferocious fights. Lee's Zoe "Kuro" Seo-haeng was very active throughout the match, but Vladimir Park's "Viper" Do-hyeon was too much for the AF. GRF walked to the Nexus AFs after getting the Baron and Elder buffs.

There were fights all around the beginning of Game 1 of KT and HLE. However, HLE support Kim "Key" Nami Han-gi recorded four kills early in the game and led the match to HLE. KT tried to come back with a Baron flight by his "Ucal" Woo-hyeon, but the game was already too inclined towards HLE. HLE took over the Rift and ended the game.

HLE dropped the initiative at KT early in the game. However, while Dr. Mundo of Heo "Lindarang" Man-heung killed Ucal in the lower lane, they slowly transformed the game. HLE was not shaken by KT's lateral lane macro and quietly took Baron and Elder. They won the last team fight near Baron and finished the game.
